Microsoft has two existing “specific” Language Input Tools:
- Indic Language Input Tool helps enter Indian text (Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, & Telugu).
- Maren type Arabic in Roman characters (Romanized Arabic, Arabizi, Arabish or Franco-Arabic) and it converts on the fly to Arabic script.
Now Microsoft’s Translator Labs have released their “Universal Text Input“ combining their two previous works.
NEW: Try it –> “Universal Text Input” is beginning to port an IME to the web, independent of the operating system. Currently only a small set of languages are available: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Greek, Japanese and Russian.
