Microsoft’s CodePlex Releases Windows 8 Explorer for Windows 7

BExplorer (Better Explorer) is a replacement for standard Windows 7 Explorer with the look & feel of the Windows 8 Explorer, with some additional features.

Project’s main goals:

  1. Adding tab functionality together with use of standard explorer browser control
  2. Adding additional toolbars with more features like:
    • Changing Library icons
    • File operation with files and folders
    • Synchronized command prompt
    • Change of folder icons
    • Extended Jump list support
    • Double panel explorer
    • Extended search pane
    • Glassy view
